Thracian sanctuary Beglik Tash
The Thracian megalithic sanctuary of Beglik Tash lies just 10 km away from Kiten. The landmark is situated at the highest point of the Maslen Nos Cape, which extends into the sea between the bays of St. Paraskeva and Zygra. It is believed to be one of the communication centers for connecting with the cosmos, emitting exceptionally powerful energy. Archaeologists are convinced that Beglik Tash’s impressive and peculiarly shaped rock formations are not a natural phenomenon. The megalithic sanctuary is a sacred site with Thracian mounds and rock altars, which cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. Known as the “Bulgarian Stonehenge,” the sanctuary covers an area of 6 decares. The two hiking trails starting from Beglik Tash lead visitors to St. Paraskeva Bay and Cape Maslen Nos.

St. Nikola Underwater chapel
In one of the most picturesque bays of the Strandzha Mountain, you’ll find the unique and only underwater chapel in Bulgaria and the Balkans – “St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.” Situated 12 meters below the surface of the Black Sea, this chapel was created by divers. Inside, there is an image of the saint and a place where visitors can place glow sticks instead of candles. Nearby, you can explore the Seal Cave, see an 800-kilogram Mermaid sculpture, and take in stunning views. Located 5 km north of Primorsko, the bay is known as “Crocodile Bay” due to the unusual rock formations that resemble two giant reptiles. The area is perfect for both beginner divers, who can enjoy the shallow lagoon near the shore, and more experienced divers, who can dive from the sea side and reach depths of up to 24 meters.
This unique chapel is a popular venue for various events, including rituals, parties, civil and church weddings, baptisms, gatherings, romantic birthdays, and anniversaries. You can reach the underwater chapel by yacht, departing from the pier in Primorsko.
